Overview

Victor holds a master’s degree in Philosophy of Science Technology and Society (PSTS). The PSTS program is an internationally and multidisciplinary oriented master’s program that is offered as a joint-program by the School of Behavioral Sciences and the School of Management and Governance at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands. Within the PSTS master’s program, Victor enrolled in the Science Technology and Society (STS) specialization track that offers an internationally and multidisciplinary oriented approach to scientific and technological innovation that takes place within its societal context. By taking the PRIME pathway within the STS track, Victor specialized in research and innovation policy.

In the PSTS program, Victor was trained to critically evaluate the interrelationships in the triad of science, technology, and society and in particular the societal impact and role of Information and Communication Technology systems (ICTs). Through his Master’s Thesis, a study of privacy regulation for RFID development in the retail sector in the EU, Victor got intrigued by how institutions govern innovations in ICTs in a societal-desired direction by means of (public) policies. This motivated Victor to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Policy.
